Volunteer
Opportunities
Being a
non-profit agency, The Autism Society of Newfoundland and Labrador relies
heavily on support from its hundreds of volunteers that help the agency through
fundraising events, awareness campaigns and other events the Centre is involved
in throughout the year. Although we are not always in need of volunteers
on a day to day basis, we are always looking for names of individuals who are
willing to support the Society throughout the year.
If you
are interested in adding your name to our ever growing volunteer list, please
email the Program Manager at jgeary@autism.nf.net. In your email, please include your full
contact information, as well as an area of interest that you have. The
areas that we generally need volunteer assistance in are:
Swimming Programming
Recreational Programming
Administrative (copying, preparing materials for presentations and groups)
Fundraising
Child Care (for parent attending support groups)
General Assistance
In
addition, we are always looking for additional programming ideas, so if you
have a particular skill or passion, we would welcome you to share that with us.
Please indicate that when contacting us.
We thank
you for giving your precious time to helping us assist families and individuals
with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
"Volunteering
is so pervasive it's invisible. We take for granted all the things that have
been pioneered by concerned, active volunteers." – Susan J. Ellis
